The purpose of this project was to develop the branding and marketing for an upcoming event. In this case, The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor: a month long Halloween event providing nightly entertainment and exciting rides. The event takes place on the Queen Mary, a retired British ocean liner with a reputation for being haunted.
Due to the Halloween aspect of the event, I wanted the branding to convey the ghostly/excitement of this holiday season and incite them to take part of the event and proceed to the event’s social media and event page.
While developing the concept, it was clear it had to incorporate the creepy aspect of the event itself. From incorporating the ships eerie history, to a typographic approach, I landed on a hand coming from below grasping the Queen Mary. Essentially, a ‘creature’ coming from the depths to engulf the ship. Along with classic horror-esque like typography for the event title.
